Topsail Addiction Treatment

Dedham, MA Alcohol Rehab

As a depressant that can result in headaches, mood swings, elevated blood pressure, and wreak havoc on blood sugar levels, alcohol has nonetheless become a part of mainstream culture and is easily obtainable for nearly everyone. As a result, addiction has become increasingly common among all demographics in recent years, often with extremely negative consequences.

Many people feel that they’ve lost control in the downward spiral of their lives as they lose jobs, the right to drive, relationships with loved ones, and even their homes. To complicate matters even further, it’s a common misconception that effective alcohol treatment requires a stay in an inpatient rehab facility. However, this approach simply isn’t possible for many people, especially those juggling work and family obligations.

There is no one path to successful recovery from alcoholism and other substance abuse disorders. Because we believe that every person’s experience with addiction is unique, we offer customized treatment plans to residents of Dedham, Massachusetts, and surrounding communities. Clients choose from partial hospitalization treatment (PHP), intensive outpatient treatment (IOP), and traditional outpatient treatment (OP).

Partial Hospitalization Program Dedham, MA

This is a day treatment program typically involving a commitment of five days per week Monday through Friday. Participants continue living in their own homes. This approach is recommended for those who have recently completed detox or an inpatient stay at a rehab facility. In the second scenario, PHP serves as a bridge between inpatient and outpatient treatment to help participants transition back into their everyday lives and usual routines, although some opt to stay in a sober living environment instead.

At this time, many participants in recovery programs are at their most vulnerable for relapse risks. Most participants remain in a PHP for several weeks in preparation to transition to a lower level of care, such as IOP.

Intensive Outpatient Treatment (IOP)

Less intensive than PHP, IOP involves a time commitment of three or four hours per day several times per week, which allows participants to keep to their normal routine as much as possible. This option works best for those with substantial home and work obligations whose families would suffer if they went to an inpatient rehab facility. Taking this approach also allows participants with a strong local support network to benefit from those connections.

IOP is also the logical next step down for those who have participated in a PHP. Evening sessions are available for those employed during the day.

Outpatient Treatment (OT)

The least time-consuming and intensive of the alcohol rehab options offered to residents of Dedham, Massachusetts and surrounding communities, OT works as a functional first step for those in the early stages of addiction as well as a second or third step for those who’ve completed other programs. Designed to provide a significant amount of flexibility to accommodate a variety of work and school schedules and household obligations, OT generally consists of group sessions lasting approximately one hour once per week.

It’s important for those choosing to begin their journey with recovery with the OT approach to have a strong personal support system in place. Although participants will receive plenty of support in the group sessions and probably even make a few lifelong friends in the process, starting with OT therapy requires that a solid social and home environment that’s supportive of the participant’s recovery efforts be in place.

The Customized Approach

Every individual approaches treatment for alcoholism in his or her own unique way, which means that customized approaches are the most effective. Customized recovery plans take into consideration the person’s level of addiction, life circumstances such as employment and school obligations, and the degree to which others in his or her life are supportive and understanding of efforts to overcome addiction. For instance, someone with a spouse who uses alcohol and will have a different path to sobriety than someone living in an alcohol-free home.
